Common questions
We have tried to answer these directly, including the parts that are not always comfortable to talk about — like registration and funding limits.
Still not sure?
Call us on 0451 084 731 or send an enquiry. We will tell you honestly whether we can help.
Contact usWhat services does Unified Steps provide?
Unified Steps provides assistance with personal activities, travel and transport, daily tasks and shared living, development of life skills, household tasks, community participation, group and centre-based activities, and information about supported independent living. We do not provide nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology, specialist behaviour support or support coordination.
Which areas do you support?
We support participants across Western Sydney, including Blacktown, Penrith and Parramatta. Contact us to confirm availability for your suburb before making a referral.
Are you accepting new participants?
Yes, we are currently welcoming new participants. Availability depends on the support you need and your location, so please contact us to discuss your situation.
Do you support children?
Yes. One-to-one support for children is a particular focus for Unified Steps. We support children and their families with everyday routines, community participation and life skills. We are not a clinical or therapy provider.
Do you support adults?
Yes. We support adults as well as children, with practical, person-centred support at home and in the community.
How can I make an enquiry?
You can call us on 0451 084 731, email info@unifiedsteps.com.au, or use the enquiry form on our contact page. Support coordinators and other professionals can use our referral form.
Can a support coordinator refer someone?
Yes. Support coordinators, plan managers, family members and other professionals can use our referral form. Please include the service required, preferred service area and the best contact details. Please do not include diagnoses or NDIS numbers in the website form.
What funding arrangements do you accept?
We currently work with self-managed and plan-managed participants. We cannot accept NDIA-managed funding while we are unregistered. We are progressing through the NDIS registration process. Your plan manager must be registered with the NDIS Commission. SIL availability depends on our registration application and transitional arrangements.
Are you a registered NDIS provider?
No. Unified Steps is currently an unregistered NDIS provider and is progressing through the NDIS registration process. We do not have a certificate of registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. We are clear about this so you can make an informed choice. Unregistered providers can support self-managed and plan-managed participants, subject to the rules of your plan.
How do I get started?
Start by calling us or sending an enquiry. We will talk through your goals, routines, funding arrangement and location. If we are a good fit, we will discuss the practical arrangements, including a service agreement, before support begins.
What happens after I submit an enquiry?
Your enquiry is sent by email to the Unified Steps team. We will review it and contact you using the details you provide. We do not promise a specific response time. If your enquiry is urgent, please call us.
Do you provide therapy, nursing or clinical support?
No. Unified Steps provides practical disability support. We do not provide occupational therapy, speech pathology, physiotherapy, psychology, specialist behaviour support, nursing or high-intensity clinical care.
Do you have a public office?
No. We do not have a public-facing office or drop-in location. Our team is based in the Plumpton area and provides support in participants' homes and communities across Western Sydney. We do not publish our business address.
Can you help with transport?
Yes, assistance with travel and transport is one of our services. The type of transport support, destinations and any travel costs will be discussed with you before support begins.
I need supported independent living. Can you help?
Supported independent living (SIL) requires registration with the NDIS Commission. Unified Steps is currently unregistered and is progressing through the registration process. We are not currently accepting new NDIS-funded SIL referrals while our application is being assessed. We can discuss other support options, such as personal activities, daily tasks or life skills, if they fit your plan.
